The Filante SLR is an extremely lightweight aerodynamic racing bike that significantly improves the ratio of torsional stiffness to weight. The bike is used by the athletes of the Groupama - FDJ Cycling Team. The Filante SLR was designed to achieve maximum aerodynamics under real-world conditions. The analysis is based on data measured in the wind tunnel, while also taking the real world into account. This way, we not only evaluate the data typical for the wind tunnel but also consider the turbulence in the real world that affects the bike for various reasons. For this reason, we have redesigned the profiles. We started from the NACA/KAMM standard but opted out of blunt cuts at the rear end. Rounded edges provide better performance, even when the airflow is disturbed. The inside of the fork has been enlarged by 7 mm, making it 13.6% wider than the fork of the Cento10PRO. We removed the fork blades from the bike to reduce turbulence and improve aerodynamics.
