Velocitek ProStart

ProStart is an excellent, compact race computer and GPS speedometer in a waterproof housing, featuring crystal clear optics, latency-free navigation, and a multi-colour backlight. The bonded Gorilla Glass display with crisp white and black digits remains clear even through polarized sunglasses. A user-selectable white/red LED backlight is suitable for night sailing or other low-light situations.

A powerful 72-channel, 25Hz multi-constellation GPS receiver combined with a 100Hz solid-state 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and a patented high-precision 3-axis geomagnetic sensor provides accurate distance, speed, and heading information without delay. The rechargeable battery can be charged via any USB port or mobile charger, allowing you to forget about it for the rest of the week, giving you one less thing to worry about on race day.

The ProStart records position, time, course over ground, speed over ground, magnetic course, and heel angle four times per second. The 8 GB onboard flash memory offers space for 1000 hours of sailing data. When connected to any Mac, PC, or Linux computer, it appears as an external drive with your track files, allowing you to drag and drop these files into browser-based recording software such as ChartedSails or Njord Analytics without needing to install anything on your computer.
