Petzl Glacier

The Glacier ice axe is a true mountaineering specialist. In steep, slippery, icy terrain, it can ideally utilise its 350 gram strengths. The super-light anodised aluminium shaft is corrosion-resistant and sits comfortably in the hand with its ergonomically shaped grip surface. This is particularly important when the ice axe is used under tension. The pick and shovel are made of high-quality steel and offer a comfortable grip with their compact surface. The three millimetre thick, tapered pick penetrates hard snow with ease and can be placed in a stable position. The balanced design of the Glacier makes it a joy to use and easy to handle. Carabiners and loops can be inserted through the large holes in the pick and at the end of the shaft, which can be used to secure the ice axe in the terrain or to carry it on a rucksack. If you prefer, you can use the hand strap supplied to secure the ice axe to your person.
