Product details
In 1988, Powell-Peralta placed an "Artist Wanted" ad in TWS and Thrasher. The "winner" of the competition would receive a job in the art department of Powell-Peralta in Santa Barbara. The selected artist was Sean Cliver, primarily because his illustration style was very similar to that of VCJ. Cliver's first deck design, the Barbee Ragdoll, deviated from the traditional VCJ look, but when it came time to update the Caballero dragon, Sean followed in the master's footsteps. At some point later, someone referred to the graphic as the "Cab 'Ban This' Dragon," as it was prominently featured in that video. Originally released: 1988 Artwork by: Sean Cliver. FLIGHT™ decks are: thinner - as thin as your phone, stronger - more than twice as strong in our tail-break tests, more durable - the epoxy-reinforced, fiber-reinforced structure of the Flight Deck is extremely shatterproof and gives it an "eternal pop" that doesn't fade as your deck slowly wears out. Ollies are higher because they have more rebound and snap. Team tests have shown that Flight Decks last many times longer than 7-ply skateboards, making them not only cost-effective but also particularly high-performing. Remember, skateboards are meant to be ridden, not run over by a car or truck.
