The Akron Mid GTX from Garmont is a versatile hiking shoe with a mid-height shaft that provides reliable support and comfort for demanding day hikes, light mountain treks, and via ferrata routes. The upper is made of durable suede leather, complemented by protective RPU reinforcements. Inside, the PFC-free GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane ensures breathable moisture protection—ideal for dynamic tours in changing weather. The Ortholite® Ultra™ insole offers long-lasting cushioning comfort, while a semi-rigid polypropylene insert in the sole construction provides the necessary stability. The EVA midsole adds extra shock absorption. Particularly impressive is the grippy MICHELIN® Off Road outsole with OCX3 and OC1 rubber compounds, which, thanks to its Fiberlite technology, offers excellent traction on rock, roots, and wet surfaces.
