Edelrid Ohm II

The innovative and successful Ohm has received several updates for easier operation. The 2nd generation of the resistor for increasing braking effect in rope teams with a large weight difference now features a swivel joint, providing the device with more freedom of movement. When attaching the Ohm to the first hook, the direction of attachment no longer matters. The locking system prevents accidental opening of the device and simplifies the insertion of the rope and disassembly during lowering. In the event of a fall, the rope is pulled into the braking unit of the Ohm, and the fall is progressively slowed down. The device does not stop the rope abruptly but reduces its speed of descent. This allows the fall to be dynamically caught by the belayer, regardless of the belay device used. The belayer needs to exert significantly less hand force on the brake rope and will not be pulled uncontrollably upwards or against the wall.
