Compass Yacht Devices YDEG-04-N motor interface

Yacht Devices Engine Interface YDEG-04N, NMEA 2000® and SeaTalkNG YDEG-04R Gateway for Volvo Penta, Mercury, Yanmar, BRP Rotax, and J1939 engines to the NMEA 2000® network. It provides you with data on engine speed, engine hours, coolant temperature, battery charge, warnings and alarm messages, fuel consumption, and other values displayed on a chart plotter. This gateway is compatible with BRP Rotax (tested with Rotax 1503 4-tec engines), SmartCraft (Mercury, MerCruiser), J1939 engines (Caterpillar, Yanmar 4JH, etc.), and most Volvo Penta engines manufactured since 2004, as well as some engines produced before 2000.

Compatible Volvo Penta engines: With all versions of EVC-B, EVC-C, EVC-D, EVC-E (most settings for fuel tank capacity and calibration of modern models since 2006), with EVC-A MC (e.g., D3-160A-A) and EVC-A EC (also known as EVCmc and EVCec) 12-point sensors for all tanks. D1 and D2 series with MDI (Mechanical Diesel Interface), e.g., D2-40F EDC III and EDC IV diesel engines (EMS 2.0, EMS 2.2) certified by the National Marine Electronics Association. EFI engines with MEFI4B ECU or later (gasoline, 2004-2005), with or without EVC.

Power consumption from the NMEA 2000® network: 38 mA, 10-16 V. All EGC engines (gasoline, 2005 and later), with or without installed EVC system. Connections: Length of the engine cable (to male Deutsch connector): 500 mm. The gateway has a male NMEA 2000® Micro or Raymarine SeaTalk NG connector. In most boats with Volvo Penta engines, the device's housing length (without connectors) is 54 mm. All you need to do is plug the device into the T-piece in the NMEA 2000® network backbone and connect the engine cable to a multi-link hub. Alternatively, you can use the built-in Y-connector to connect the gateway's engine cable in series with an EVC tachometer.
