They break down the molecular structure of the plastic fibers within each strand. As a result, these fibers lose their elasticity, making the sail brittle and fragile. Once the fibers are compromised, they cannot be regenerated. Even under lower stress, it can quickly lead to tears. The profile of the set sail quickly becomes bulging due to the decreasing elasticity, which results in poorer performance when sailing upwind. Additionally, oily soot, dirt, and dust easily accumulate on unprotected sails, making the white fabric unsightly over time. The protective boom cover made of polyacrylic material is breathable, preventing moisture accumulation and mildew stains. The material is also extremely weather-resistant. With a durable zipper on the mast side and buckles on the underside of the boom, the cover can be easily and quickly applied. The fabric is available in traditional blue or white and comes in various boom lengths.
