As one of the most durable foam-based helmets in the Black Diamond collection, the Vision MIPS is made from EPP composite foam with molded EPS and an ABS shell for dent protection. At the same time, the helmet is equipped with revolutionary MIPS technology. The MIPS system protects the head from the rotational forces generated upon impact when the blow comes from an oblique angle. This additional protection system reduces the rotational forces that occur during an impact. The movable second shell mounted between the helmet and the head dissipates energy through the movement between the first and second shells, rather than transferring it to the head. The improved fit at the sides and back enhances the protective function and meets the proposed UIAA requirements. Strategically placed ventilation openings ensure air circulation in warm temperatures. The attachment system and chin strap of the Vision are lightweight and comfortable, while the integrated headlamp clips are positioned to prevent snagging on gear when donning slings, making climbing after dark easy and hassle-free.
