Black Diamond Camalot Z4

The Camalot Z4 emerged from an open-heart discussion with our top BD athletes, including Hazel Findlay, Carlo Traversi, Sam Elias, and Babsi Zangerl, and is the realization of a dream: to have a Camalot with a single shaft that remains stiff in hand but becomes flexible once placed. Here it is, the patented RigidFlex shaft. Thanks to the independently floating attachment cords, the Camalot Z4 does not bend under tension or when retracted. Once in position, it allows the shaft to move and create an anchor that stays in place and does not shift when pulled in a specific direction. In larger sizes, the shaft also features a structure of double-twisted cables that provide uniform flexibility in all directions, while smaller sizes use only one cable to prevent deformation at the trigger under heavy pulling and to reduce the volume of the trigger. With a head that has the same width as our predecessor model, the Camalot C3, but with four sandblasted lobes for better holding power, the Camalot Z4 is not just an improved version. It is also available in smaller sizes, from size 0, our smallest Camalot to date, up to size 0.75, allowing for material adjustments whether you are looking for summit cracks or moving quickly and lightly in the Alps.
