Question about Alessi Espresso machine

I tend to favour the version from ambros.scope!
I would even put a small round metal plate underneath on a gas hob to distribute the heat evenly!!!

I've never tried it before, but I'm rather sceptical. The handle is likely to get very hot on a fire and it would take a long time. On strong embers with a grate above it, it's more likely. The chrome will turn black or other colours depending on the fire or embers.
