While the carbonic acid cartridge (CO₂ cylinder) is hidden in the slender column, the amount of carbonic acid to be dispensed can be intuitively adjusted on the knob on top when turned clockwise. But only when the supplied bottle has been screwed onto the unit's cap may the supply of carbon dioxide be opened. After bubbling and before removing the bottle, the supply must be closed by turning the knob anti-clockwise.
