Yes, it works without the internet. The Mi Air Purifier Pro is controlled by the button on the top of the device as soon as it is switched on. The button switches between the different modes. The display at the front then shows which mode is currently in operation. The Internet functionality is only additional, you can then control the Air Purifier Pro. But it does not have to be set up in the WLAN for it to fulfil its function. The laser sensor built into the device detects polluted air and switches to a higher cleaning level as long as necessary and will then select a lower cleaning level again. Another tip: the air filters do not need to be replaced when the unit asks for them. Simply vacuum up superficial dust with the hoover, reinsert the filter and perform a filter reset. This saves a lot of money, because these filters are intended for Asian countries, where the air is incredibly dirty. For us, a 180-day filter easily lasts a year or more.

This air purifier is excellent value for money. But I have to admit that I've never tried the homekit, because the settings are very easy to access on the device and my aim is to purify the air and not to play with my smartphone. (I gave this answer at digitec's request, having bought this device... 1-3 years ago?)

Yes, that would certainly be possible, but I would recommend the newer model, because its filters last easily for a year or more, they are better and if 4 units are used, it is an advantage if the filters last longer. Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 4 Pro (60 m²)

Is the room also specially humidified?

No, this is an air purifier (a very good one, in fact) that can remove fine dust, pollen and also viruses from the air with a HEPA H13 filter. It is also excellent for filtering harmful substances from the air that are produced during cooking. However, I would recommend the newer model 4 Pro, because in addition to air purification, it can be used with an ioniser for even fresher air (at least that is what the manufacturer promises) and the filters last even longer (up to 1 year, but in our area where there are not so many pollutants in the air, the filters last even longer). The Pro models used to have a locking lever at the bottom of the filter that had to be operated so that the fan filter was lifted up a little. Actually, the rear cover should not be inserted at all if this lever is not turned over. Another possibility to check is whether the rear cover really closes properly, because these air cleaners should only start when the housing is closed.

Yes, this also works, of course it takes a little longer so that other rooms are also cleaned. But with time, the air purifier will also be able to clean the other rooms from fine dust. What I would recommend though, instead of a Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Pro, I would take the smaller models and then two. They are all the same in terms of filtration, it is only the comfort of the display that is different. The filters are also all equally good, namely very good. My suggestion would therefore be two or even three models of this device Xiaomi Air Purifier 2H, the missing display is not a disadvantage, by the way, because these OLED displays burn in, i.e. better none at all. But you can also switch off the OLED display to prevent it from burning in. Xiaomi MI Air Purifier 2H (37 m²)

Yes, of course, but Digitec itself does not offer filters. But they can be ordered via Galaxus. Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Filter Important to know: a filter like this lasts much longer here than in Asia (where the devices were developed). So please do not replace the filter after 180 days. Vacuum the surface dust, reinsert the filter and reset it (for the sake of the environment). I have already been using my filter for 2 years and initially made the mistake of replacing a completely new one after 180 days. It doesn't have to be, because we don't have much air pollution in Switzerland.

If the device is connected to the router, then the router should display the Mac address (as "device information"). Otherwise, you can also find such information with LAN sniffers, e.g. LanScan for Mac.

I am not an expert on HEPA filters. My craftsman says it is a HEPA filter. According to the description of the device, it also contains active carbon, and the service life of the filter is 10-14 months, +/- 10%, according to the manufacturer. I am a heavy smoker (40 per day) - since I have been using the unit in automatic mode, we have been smelling - on the first floor (70 sqm floor space X 2.5 m ceiling height) we no longer smell tobacco. - on the second floor (65 sqm X 2.5 to 5 m ceiling height (under roof) with staircase upwards without door) also no tobacco smell - this is where the tobacco smoke used to go. The automatic mode works great outstanding - as soon as I light a cigarette ¨, the device switches up with little delay (detection of the pollutant apparently by laser) --> super ingenious. still a few minutes down again. . There are further modes such as night mode (noisier), low 1 to 3 and full power. The device cleans the promised room size of 72 sqm with ease. We are more than satisfied. Whether it now also sucks up Covid viruses (was also a reason for the purchase), we can of course not verify, but I would assume so. BUT: We were surprised that it absorbs the smell of tobacco so well.
