Is there any way to open the top of the appliance? Mine has been in my room for two years and a lot of dust has slowly accumulated at the top of the interior. Unfortunately, the hoover is not powerful enough to vacuum through the "barriers".

I've never had the problem of dust building up, it runs every day and the filter has already been changed once and then I wondered and lo and behold, the 2nd gen. now offers the option. Perhaps the engineers thought it wasn't necessary...only clean air comes out 😉

I have the same problem. I've seen photos somewhere where there are buttons in the centre of the air outlet that can be used to remove the fan grille. That annoys me too.
