No, a non-Makita doesn't work, but you can get them with a charger if you don't have one. (Makita BL1850B 18v=5.0Ah 90 Wh )

Yes, but only lasts for 1-2 coffees per battery. The coffee is not that great. Better to buy a kettle and take powder with you, it's easier and better

Best is strong aromatic powdered coffee, that it idt like filter coffee or flat pads.... Nesspresso capsules don't work... the rest is tasteless...
I always use coffee powder. It tastes good and is also better for the environment.
