You can use the Lodge 26.04 cm Cast Iron Skillet on a glass cooktop, but you need to take some precautions to avoid damaging the surface. Here are the key points to consider: - Clean and Dry Bottom: Ensure the bottom of the pan is clean and dry before placing it on the glass cooktop. - Avoid Sliding: Lift and gently place the cookware on the stove instead of sliding it, which can cause scratches. - Risk of Cracking: Be careful when setting the pan down to avoid cracks and damage to the glass. By following these guidelines, you can safely use your cast iron skillet on a glass cooktop.
Automatically generated from the .No teflon or any coating. It is pure cast iron.
You don't need to. You can pre-cultivate it. It will become knobbed over time. Never scrub the bottom of the pan when washing with a hard brush. Hot water, a drop of washing-up liquid (optional) and a soft brush are all you need. Pre-heat the pan to low-medium heat. Before storing, wipe the pan with a paper towel soaked in oil to prevent rust. My 2 cents
Hello Unfortunately I don't know that I still have a conventional cooker. Otherwise I am very happy with the pan. It is ideal for braising dishes.
Depends on the fried food. Fried eggs and pancakes, for example, stick if they are fried with too little fat. Meat, on the other hand, sticks less.
I mean the cast iron pan is already baked and has a "patina" which serves as a natural coating. Cast iron pans usually have to be baked at home before they can be used. Please inform yourself well about how to use them before you buy such a pan. Then they are super 👍🏻
How rough is the bottom of this pan? Do I have to fear that the induction surface will be scratched?
I haven't had any problems with scratches so far. But it is certainly rougher than normal stainless steel pans.
Works beautifully. The induction stove gives is a beautiful hot surface - perfect for searing meat or tuna. Looks as though it's going to last 100 years. Very good purchase
Yes, it is 26cm
yes. https://www.lodgemfg.com
yes they are!!! and it is easy to season yourself https://www.lodgemfg.com/discover/cleaning-and-care/cast-iron/all-about-seasoning a good video! https://youtu.be/KLGSLCaksdY
Yes, I have the same one and everything works wonderfully on a glass ceramic cooker. But you have to season the cast iron pan or you will get rust stains, there are enough videos on YouTube about it.
Hey Alex! It does work on an induction stove. I have one at home and I've had no problem since I bought it
Good morning, the actual frying surface is approx. 21cm.
Cast iron is virtually indestructible. You can put it in the oven or over a camp fire. You probably won't reach temperatures at home (500-750ºC) that will damage the pan. Just make sure to keep your pan dried and well seasoned.
