The smallest and cheapest toaster in the test does not toast significantly worse than more expensive devices. However, it shows weaknesses with the American Sandwich, which is ejected after a quick 2:15 minutes, with almost one centimeter of bread remaining white on the outside...
We put 30 toasters through their paces. 18 of these are classic compact toasters, which toast two slices at a time, as do 5 of the 12 long-slot models we tested. Seven of the long-slot toasters tested can even toast up to four slices of bread at the same time. A good two-thirds of the toasters tested performed well, and one of the cheapest models is actually among the best...
The second Braun model tested is particularly impressive when it comes to what is most important for a toaster: it toasts toast, rolls etc. reliably so that they are evenly browned over a wide area. You can set any desired browning level without hesitation; the toast neither burns at the highest level nor remains too soft at the lowest level...
The cheapest model tested also convinces with stable results. Even on the highest setting, toast slices do not burn. A clear design and user-friendly large buttons ensure easy operation. However, fingerprints on the housing are a nuisance.
