The Moka is also changing, from good to better. The rounded shapes that Mendini used for this espresso pot give it an original and innovative design. But to make the Moka great, it would not have been enough to simply make the shapes rounder, as many have already tried to do. No, a clear design signal was needed to replace the archetypal Moka. Mendini has found precisely this signal in a design that lends curves to the familiar vertical taper and thus creates a strong profile with a high recognition value. The other traditional design details are retained by the Moka Alessi; only the technical and formal details have been improved. The material thickness and volume of the individual containers have been optimised and the proportions of the boiler and drip tray have been calculated.
