100 Years of Alessi - Values Collection - Limited Edition. The corkscrew designed by Ettore Sottsass is both effective and exciting. It is easy to use: the elements designed by Sottsass create an ergonomic shape that feels very comfortable in the hand. It is made from certified FSC wood (Forest Stewardship Council) from ecologically guaranteed sources. The coating is water-based, completely solvent-free, environmentally sustainable, and non-toxic. Ettore Sottsass was born in 1917 in Innsbruck and is internationally recognized as one of the pioneers of the renewal of design and architecture. Thanks to him, the rigid functionalism of the pre- and post-war years of World War II was overcome. In the language of this great and influential master of Italian design, potential energy and vitality are expressed in design and color, contrasting with any form of intellectualism and rigidity. He passed away in 2007.
