Question about PetSafe Petporte Smart Flap

Quick question: I bought this flap because someone I know has had good experiences with it. Unfortunately, I mistakenly thought that our cats are chipped - but they are not; so now my question: Does this scanner work via RFID/are commercially available cat chips RFID? So can I also operate this cat door with a commercially available RFID tag or RFID collar from another manufacturer (e.g. sure flap)? Does anyone have any tips?

Hello, I doubt that it works with a tag, because the chip is then too far away, the chip is in the neck of the cat. But why don't you have the cats chipped, it only has advantages the flap works and if the cat runs away you can see where it belongs.
