Lithothamnium calcareum is a living red stone algae that turns white upon drying. As a 100% pure natural substance, it has a high content of trace elements and calcium. This makes it ideal for meeting individual calcium needs and balancing the phosphorus surplus that must be considered when feeding raw.

Composition: Carbonate algae lime

Analytical components and contents: Calcium 32.9%, hydrochloric acid insoluble ash 8.5%

Feeding recommendation: To neutralize the phosphorus surplus in fresh meat, the following amounts are required:

• for 500g of lean beef, 2 level measuring spoons
• for 500g of beef head meat, 1 1/2 measuring spoons
• for 500g of beef heart, approximately 2 level measuring spoons
• for 500g of beef tripe, approximately 1/3 measuring spoon
• for 500g of horse meat, approximately 1 1/2 measuring spoons
• for 500g of turkey meat, 2 level measuring spoons

Please note that these amounts are solely for neutralizing the phosphorus surplus in raw meat. When calculating the total calcium requirement of the animal, you must consider the phosphorus content of all feed ingredients.

For general calcium supply: 1g Fit-BARF algae lime contains approximately 300mg of calcium.

1 measuring spoon corresponds to about 1.5g.

The daily calcium requirement is approximately 50 – 90mg Ca/kg body weight. Pregnant and lactating females, as well as growing puppies, require up to 180mg Ca/kg body weight.
