Half of the meat in Acana is fresh, while the other half is dried, and both are approved for human consumption. Acana Grasslands includes five types of meat in "whole prey" portions of meat, organs, and cartilage. The meat, liver, hearts, kidneys, and cartilage from grass-fed lamb come fresh from local farms. The meat, organs, cartilage, and liver from free-run ducks come fresh from regional prairie farms. The eggs are whole and fresh from nearby prairie farms.
