When I have installed this lamp and set it with the app, can I switch it on and off via a traditional switch?

Yes, that works. However, if the lamp is switched off by the normal switch, it would have to be switched on there again so that it can be used with the Philips Hue system again, because the traditional switch switches off the power to the lamp completely.
