I would like to use this hue lamp on the normal light switch... i.e. on/off via the light switch and then dim, change colour etc. with the app if required. But the lamp should have the colour/dim setting from the last time after switching on via the normal light switch. Does that work?

You can set this in the app. You can choose whether it should be the last scene, a standard setting and a custom setting (any scene).
