Virtually all light sources will be classified in a lower energy class under the new regulation, as the requirements for economy have been increased. This should motivate manufacturers to develop even more efficient devices to achieve a better class. In addition, the test procedures were adjusted to come closer to real household conditions. An accumulation of all appliances in the best classes is to be avoided in the future with the new regulations.
Example: An E27 LED bulb in our shop is currently rated A+. According to the new regulation, the same product will now be classified in energy efficiency class F. Nothing has changed in the technology of the bulb. Power consumption and luminous efficacy remain the same. The only difference is that due to the new specifications and classifications, the lamp is now classified in a different energy class.
