Question about TP-Link Tapo L530E (1-pack)

Do you necessarily need wifi to operate the lamp or is it possible to do it without wifi and just with Bluetooth, for example? I'm asking because I've used a similar bulb, which I connected to my phone via a shared connection, but when the connection was turned off the bulb wouldn't stop flashing and that's not very practical.
