I had a doubt as well but worked perfectly with my previous version of the lightstrip.
No, the device is really only the extension to the product (Phillips Hue Light Strip Plus) it is only intended to extend the Led strip by 1 metre. It is not possible to insert a sim card and therefore it is not 5G capable.
