Hello, does the light charge with a USB cable? Is there a light setting that is bright enough to look at a book? Thank you

Yes, chargeable by USB cable. There is a white light setting. But not strong to read by. We use these more as night lights to scare away the monsters.

The lamp works very well and is very pleasant to use for my two year old daughter. However, it does not switch off after 15 minutes! So it stays on all night and is discharged after one or two nights... not very practical! In similar products of the same brand (other animals) I saw that it was possible to set the two modes "stays on" or "turns off after 15 min" with the button below. But it is impossible to do so. On the brief instructions I received, there is no such information, only that it switches off after 15 minutes. Is this a manufacturing defect? As this is one of the main reasons for the purchase, this is rather annoying.

this lamp sucks. turn on/off switch is on the bottom- how inconvenient it is. I imagined I can turn on by touching the lamp but actually you need to lift it and push the button on the bottom which again sucks:)

We have this whale in use. We like it a lot, but the battery makes us uneasy. We can't operate the whale for two nights on one battery charge. That should be possible in this price range. Question: Is a battery life of a few hours normal?

Doesn't the whale only burn for 15 minutes and then extinguish itself? We generally use it for several days/weeks. But only ever for the 15 minutes until it switches itself off again.

Does the light always switch off after 15 minutes or is the function adjustable? As I would like to leave the light on for longer sometimes...

Yes, it is possible - simply switch on and then press and hold the switch-on button for approx. 5 seconds. The lamp then flashes 3 times and does not switch off again :) But unfortunately you have to do this every time.
