Celestial Carpet by Moooi Carpets
Celestial is a carpet designed by Edward van Vliet for Moooi. Inspired by humanity's fascination with the universe and its origins, the mysteries behind black holes, and the possibility of life on other planets, Intergalactic serves as our gateway to bright, distant stars. The Moooi Carpets collection features whimsical and spectacular carpets from some of the greatest artists of our time. Thanks to revolutionary digital printing technology, carpet patterns look like photographs: they are rendered with unprecedented resolution and detail. The 3D images are so realistic that they almost appear to have been shaped into a carpet. High-resolution prints use an unlimited number of colors, giving the carpets an astonishing depth.
Edward van Vliet - Celestial Carpet
The Dutch designer, graphic artist, and interior architect Edward van Vliet created the carpet. It is inspired by our fascination with the origin of the universe, the mysteries of black holes, and the question of whether life exists on other planets – a kind of bright, glowing gateway to distant galaxies. It speaks of promise and expansiveness beyond the possibilities in our current horizons.
