The wood finish is spruce with a rustic structured surface that resembles wood that has been stored for 100 years. As a natural product, the wood features deliberate cracks and knots, contributing to its unique design. The modern skid base has a matte black lacquer finish, with black feet and a brown cover. The wood is limed, sanded black, and lacquered with clear varnish, giving it a vintage look through unusual surface treatment.

Matching support slats for slatted frames can be ordered as accessories. The bed is only suitable for slatted frames with a fixed frame, starting from size 140x200 cm with a center bar. The varnishes used are solvent-free and water-based. The wood is sourced from nearby sawmills in Bavaria, ensuring sustainability.

The scrub resistance is greater than 45,000 scrub cycles. The THERMO spruce undergoes a specially developed process where the wood is steamed with high heat and dried simultaneously, completely without chemical additives, making it 100% organic and much harder.
