The wood finish is spruce with an old wood look, resembling wood that has been stored for 100 years. It features a rustic structured surface, and as wood is a natural product, cracks and knots are intentional. The bed is treated with solvent-free water-based varnishes and includes a middle bar for sizes 140 x 200 cm and above. The wood is sourced from nearby sawmills in Bavaria, and matching support slats for slatted frames can be ordered separately. It is only suitable for slatted frames with a fixed frame.

The thermo spruce undergoes a specially developed process where the wood is steamed with high heat and dried simultaneously, completely without chemical additives, making it 100% organic and significantly harder. The wood comes from sustainable cultivation.
