PH 3-2 1/2 Wall Light by Louis Poulsen

In 1925/26, Poul Henningsen designed the first model of the PH lamp with a three-part shade, of which there are now numerous variants. One of these variants is the PH 3-2½ wall light by Louis Poulsen, which is part of Henningsen's series of PH lamps for indoor and outdoor use. The shade of the lamp is coated in matte white on the inside to ensure pleasant light distribution. With its glare-free and symmetrical light distribution without shadows, the PH 3-2½ wall light provides a pleasantly diffuse light.

Poul Henningsen's design for the PH 3-2½ wall light is known for its elegance and light-filled effect. Even at great distances, the lamp provides ample bright light. Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen as the son of the famous Danish actress Agnes Henningsen and studied from 1911-1914 at the Technical School in Fredericksburg and then from 1914-17 at the Technical Institute in Copenhagen. Although he also engaged with traditional functionalist architecture, his professional interest was primarily in the field of lighting design, which is how he became well-known.
