Compliance with fundamental labor rights according to the core standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO) is verified among processors and manufacturers. GOTS mandates the implementation of an environmental management system and wastewater treatment in the operation. Certain environmentally harmful chemicals are prohibited, and there are limits for residues in wastewater.
