George Nelson Design - Cigar Bubble Light

George Nelson (1908-1986) was an American designer and architect who studied at Yale University and the American Academy in Rome. He made a name for himself as a design theorist. In 1947, he co-founded an industrial design office with Gordon Chadwick. He received recognition for his own designs in the office furniture sector, particularly for the Coconut Chair and the Marshmallow Sofa, as well as for his wall and table clocks. He received numerous awards, and his archive is housed in the Vitra Design Museum.
