A talented designer

Gino Sarfatti originally studied aerospace engineering in Genoa but had to drop out. However, he consistently worked in the field of lighting technology in the following years. This allowed him to become one of the most important designers of lamps and lighting fixtures during the 20th century. Early on, he used materials for lamp construction that were considered extraordinary at the time. For example, as early as the 1950s, he incorporated Plexiglas and was one of the first to use halogen lamps. One of his models was even included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
