With this design, Andrea Quaglio and Manuela Simonelli clearly evade conventions and combine the familiar in a geometrically surprising way for the Italian lighting brand Artemide. In detail, a discreet joint holds the typical conical cut lampshade at a suspension point, whereby the strut connecting to the round base skilfully follows a diagonal line. With this trick, the shade and base are not only visually balanced. The design of the lampshade is also innovative: while the conical cut of lightweight plastic hides the firmly integrated light-emitting diodes, the two circular diffusers on the top and bottom provide soft direct and indirect light. Small but powerful, the La Petite LED table lamp from Artemide provides sufficient bright light for reading, crafts and surfing at home.
