To prevent any sphere from rolling away carelessly, the base is flattened on the underside. The mouth-blown and specially etched opal glass diffuses the light, distributing it pleasantly and glare-free throughout the room. Whether used as a simply elegant reading light by the sofa and armchair or as a room-brightening bedside lamp, the larger versions of the spherical Dioscuri table lamp from Artemide also feature a built-in dimmer in the switch, allowing for gentle adjustment of the light intensity.
