Artemide Dalù table lamp

Dalù table lamp. A reissued piece of jewellery from the 1960s by the Italian designer Vico Magistretti for Artemide: one half and one sixth sphere each, which merge together without a seam despite the strict geometric construction. This curved shape is made possible by the selected injection moulding process of the thermoplastic material. Artemide offers the design classic Dalù table lamp in transparent and coloured plastic. The light emitted at a reader-friendly angle is useful for the purpose, but especially with the transparent versions, the shimmering housing quickly distracts the eye from the reading matter with self-promoting power; the light source to be inserted by the user thus becomes part of the construction (socket E 14, max. 25 W incandescent lamp or 18 W halogen eco-lamp). If the Dalù table lamp by Artemide is used as a bedside lamp, in order not to wake up and annoy your sleeping partner when reading too much, the solid-coloured and thus light-shielding end should be chosen, in which the lamp socket discreetly disappears as if under an opaque hood.
