The number one «Tip» from Scandinavia you must know
Young Swedish designer Jens Fager has mastered the art of omission – without compromising on anything. His table lamp «Tip» is so much fun!
Jens Fager’s strategy – whether intentional or not – works. Instead of stirring up the lamp market with a colourful design, he’s come up with «Tip». And proved his sense of subtle shapes and colours. But when it comes to functionality, he’s not holding back. «I wanted to reduce the design to its essential purpose.»
The desk lamp Tip is made of casted and extruded aluminium and has a swivelling head and a moveable arm. The lamp offers ambient as well as direct light. The opal diffuser and dimmer alters the volume of light. Thanks to its built-in LED bulb, Tip is very economical. It’s perfect for your desk at home or the office. It also works as a highlighter on your favourite pieces of furniture – like a coffee table or a dresser.

Consistency pays off
Abstaining from ornamental elements has gone down well with manufacturers. As a graduate of «Konstfack» University in Stockholm, head designer Jens Fager has stayed true to his style – whether he’s designing for himself or others. He regularly collaborates with engineers and materials specialists. So it’s unsurprising that he has designed several efficient and sustainable products for Muuto.
