The silo scale for container level monitoring and extraction offers the ability to effectively and reliably ensure the supply of a production facility. This silo scale not only monitors the current fill level of the container but also the continuous weight decrease. By monitoring the current fill level, the silo scale can prompt the machine operator in a timely manner to refill the container. The silo scale for container monitoring is equipped with three passive switching contacts (potential-free contacts / optocoupler outputs). One of the contacts can be used, for example, for a green traffic light, which is active when the current state of the container is satisfactory. If the container reaches a minimum threshold or minimum load, a second contact can activate a yellow or red traffic light to alert the user to refill. The traffic lights are not included in the delivery but can be ordered optionally with the silo scale for container monitoring. The second monitoring capability of the silo scale is the continuous weight decrease. This function can monitor the filling processes of the machines and report any issues in material extraction. A weight decrease per time unit can be set in the silo scale for container level monitoring, such as g/min, kg/min, g/h, kg/h. In case of deviations in material extraction, the silo scale will activate a switching contact that can be used to trigger, for example, a siren or traffic light or to initiate the shutdown of the machine. The goal of this monitoring is to prevent production machines from running empty due to issues like clogged extraction screws, thereby significantly reducing downtime and rework times.
