From what age can it be used? Also for a 4-month-old who is still lying in the pram shell and cannot bump?

I am not a sling professional :) But I had my son in the sling when he was 5 months old. He was still in the baby car seat. It worked very well. You just have to turn it the right way. There are many youtube videos... The neck/head is supported.
