Hello everyone - I bought a Samsung HW-K335 soundbar today. It is modern and can connect to the TV via Bloototh by default. However, my TV is a 10-year old Toshiba Regza 46 SL 733. Now it says in the operating instructions of the soundbar that it can be connected to a TV with an "optical cable" (not included). My Toshiba also has an "Optical Digital Output" - Would the Value Toslink cable be something I should now buy to connect the Soundbar to the TV? Best regards!
Hello, This works because the Toslink standard has remained unchanged since its birth in the 80s.
For audiophiles, however, you should use HDMI ( HDMI(ARC) connection on the TV -> in the soundbar, because Toslink is a digital standard, but sends analogue signals approx. @20mbit, so it can't play Dolby TrueHD, for example, but HDMI ARC can!) so for Dolby Atmos / TrueHD / home cinema experience, always use HDMI!
Greetings
Hey, I think that should work.
I did the same thing but with different components.
