Can I use it to connect my Logitech Z506 speakers to my Samsung UE40MU6170 so that I can hear the sound through the speakers?

The Marmitek adapter has 2 Stereo Audio Out, 1 Video Out connections and 1 HDMI In connection.
If your Samsung has an HDMI OUT, then yes (that would be quite strange).
Honestly, I don't see the point: doesn't the Samsung UE40MU6170 have an audio out port, e.g. for headphones? If so, you can simply connect your TV directly (i.e. without a Marmitek adapter) to the Logitech Z506 via an audio cable.

Stereo should actually work. However, whether the volume can be adjusted from the TV is on a completely different card.
