Expand a desktop or laptop computer with support for serial RS-232 DCE communication and resolve DCE/DTE conflicts directly, without the need for additional crossover-wired serial cables or adapters.

The 2-meter long null modem USB serial adapter adds a serial RS-232 DB/DE-9 (female) port to a desktop or laptop via a USB Type-A port. Attach the adapter to a serial device using the pre-installed and removable slotted D-Sub thumb screws, or install the included DB-9 nuts for compatibility with other serial peripherals or cables.

The LED indicators for data transmission and data reception on the adapter allow for real-time monitoring of connection activity. The USB LED indicates when the adapter has successfully registered on the desktop or laptop. All LEDs assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting.

The adapter is compatible with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Linux. Drivers are automatically installed for Windows 7 and newer versions, macOS 10.15 and higher, and Linux. The USB to RS-232 adapter features COM retention, which automatically reassigns the COM port value when the cable is unplugged and reconnected or when the system is restarted.

The robust TPE construction and level 4 ESD protection enhance the reliability and durability of the USB to serial adapter. Copper shielding minimizes electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. Gold-plated connectors improve signal conductivity.
