The cable works bidirectionally, allowing you to connect the plug to either the graphics card (source) or the monitor (sink). A DisplayPort cable transmits digital video and audio signals. This cable supports a maximum bandwidth of 21.6 Gbit/s and a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. Please note that passive adapters and extensions can weaken a signal. Therefore, longer cables may not always achieve the full bandwidth.
