Very disappointed I bought this cable to film with my mobile phone and the Rode Videomic rycote I'm recording fireworks and it didn't work at all the microphone overloads all the time that shouldn't be the case others have the same microphone with them everything works... what is the problem? I have an iphone 12 with the adapter from iphone and then this Sc4 attached and then in the microphone what is wrong with it? can this cable not pick up loud sounds?... please for help

Basically, the cable only changes the assignment of the contacts - otherwise it does nothing. Have you checked whether this microphone is really being used by the video app or whether it is the one on the mobile phone? The best way to test this is to tap lightly on the microphone. If you don't hear any plop noises on the recording, the built-in microphone of the mobile phone is recording. The data sheet says: "... and using the RODE Rec app for iOS". I use the RODE Lavalier Microphone on Windows PC and Android phones with a similar adapter and it works.

I would like to use this adapter to use audio directly from the source (headphone output of another audio device) with an old mobile phone (Sony Z5) using an appropriate cable. Does the cable have to have four-way connectors? Is this adapter suitable for such an application? Thank you very much for your feedback.

I use this adapter zmb, for GoPro, or for Iphone so that I can use an additional micro with it, don't know if that can help you.gruss
