No it works, but I had a little problem with this way of using it. I had programmed it to be dimmed. Occasionally it would lose this setting and when turned on it would light up to the max. Since it is a lamp that is not used for a couple of weeks I guess its internal memory is running out. Otherwise I have two on my terrace and I'm very happy with them.
