Hello Patrick It is practically impossible to install an SSD on your own, as you have to remove the entire display. Therefore, if you want an SSD, I recommend ordering it directly installed. I have the 1TB version. As a web developer, that's enough for me and I prefer to have more memory. The 2TB also has a double-sized SSD on it. Speed-wise, however, my MacBook is faster with a pure SSD.

This works without any problems. However, it would be advisable to supplement the (slow) fusion drive with an SSD. In other words, boot from an SSD and work on it. This is especially worthwhile for intensive reading and writing work.

Good day I also bought this iMac and a short time later I increased the Ram s to 2x16GB. I have installed the following rams: HyperX Impact (1x, 16GB, DDR4-2400, SO-DIMM 260 pin) I can only recommend them, they work perfectly, old ones out, new ones in!
