Product details

The Pro-Ject T2 takes the concept of the popular T1 model further, bringing improvements in sound quality and construction without significantly increasing the price. This model sets a new standard for audiophile-level turntables in its price range.

The T2 is built on a larger CNC-machined chassis made from high-quality materials, completely devoid of plastic parts. The precise design ensures a sturdy structure that effectively eliminates unwanted vibrations and resonances. The glass platter is thicker and heavier, achieving more stable speed and superior playback quality. The 9" aluminum tonearm features updated low-friction precision bearings designed for increased length and diameter. Additionally, it comes with a factory-installed and adjusted Sumiko Rainier MM cartridge with an elliptical needle, providing enjoyable playback from vinyl records.

As expected, it includes an electronically controlled, high-precision AC motor, gold-plated RCA connectors, and a specially designed, effectively shielded Pro-Ject Connect It E turntable cable.

  • PositiveHigh-quality series pickup
  • PositiveBalanced, silky sound, good running smoothness
  • PositiveCan send music in high quality to almost any streaming device
  • NegativeTonearm not height adjustable

Normally, however, you don't need any of the described shortcuts. At the start of the test, we still doubted whether the streaming capability would provide any real practical added value. But then we quickly had a lot of fun with the T2 W. Especially as the player sounds really excellent, particularly when connected directly to a hi-fi system...

  • PositiveBalanced and very clean sound
  • PositiveSimple handling of the app too
  • NegativeTone arm and feet not height-adjustable

Analogue or streaming? The Pro-Ject T2-W can do both. This worked convincingly smoothly in the test in conjunction with a wide variety of WLAN speakers from Bose and Sonos, for example. The mechanics come from Pro-Ject's tried-and-tested modular system with a solid chassis, attractive glass platter and high-quality pickup.
