MC8 coating features four layers on each side for high light transmission and maximum anti-reflection. Both the front and rear sides of the filter are coated, preventing any loss of contrast or brilliance and eliminating ghost and double images. The ultra-thin wide-angle mount prevents vignetting and can remain permanently on the lens without significantly extending the lens stem. A protected front lens helps save on expensive repair costs. The filter is made of optical glass, and the holder is constructed from black anodized metal with blackened inner edges to prevent reflections. Edge sealing protects against soiling, and the frame maintains dimensional stability despite temperature fluctuations.
